This post for Ritter Park in Cary is, by far, the one that has been sitting in my drafts box the longest, probably because my subconscious doesn’t want me to let the secret out about this park. 😂
I think Ritter flies under the radar as one of Cary’s great playground spots because it’s not huge like Kids Together. But honestly, it has lots of great features and truly everything you need for a great park day:
• It has nice shade from trees and is nestled in the lush Lochmere area.
• There are 2 playground structures, plus a variety of stand alone play items, and a large sand pit with diggers.
• Soft, squishy ground.
• A great circular area in the middle of the playground with trees and concrete, ideal for parents to sit. There are benches, too, as well as a picnic shelter in the distance.
• Sports fields if you have older kids too and want to throw a ball or play a game.
• Bathrooms.
• Plenty of parking.
Bring a picnic lunch from home, or my personal favorite, stop by New York Bagel and Deli, which is right up the street, to get one of the better bagels in the Triangle.
