Last November, we posted about our visit to the North Carolina Botanical Garden, but after visiting again yesterday during a different season and with more features now open at the Garden, we decided we needed an updated post!
Spring has definitely sprung and there are beautiful flowers and wildflowers all over the Garden. The culinary herbs section was so fragrant, I was even inspired to do some cooking. š©āš³
Donāt miss checking out the enormous tadpoles in the lily pad ponds.
The Paul Green Cabin toward the back of the Garden is now open, with lots of neat information, photos, and an old typewriter.
The visitor portion of the Allen Education Center is also now open. There are great exhibits here, which you can see photos of, including a variety of bird nests and a slab of a 250+ year old tree. A free scavenger hunt is also available. And if you want to treat yourself as the days begin to get hotter, grab a @locopopsdurham popsicle in the gift shop.
Currently, the main entrance to the Garden is undergoing some work and is blocked off, but they have a small kiosk with their maps and info set up to the right in the parking lot by the area labeled āadditional parking.ā If you can get a spot over there, that will be the closest you can get to the current entrance.
Bathrooms are also open and available. There is also a motherās room for breastfeeding and any other mom needs in the Allen Center by the bathrooms.
As far as stroller friendly, some of the paths are paved or boardwalks, but most are not; however, the unpaved ones are mostly a hard-packed gravel that strollers can get around on if need be.
