A little birdie told us that there was an amazingly beautiful fish mural we had to check out at Hill Street Park in Raleigh.

Okay, so maybe it wasnāt a bird, it was Raleigh Parks' Instagram, but that is irrelevant because the beauty did live up to the hype! The sidewalk mural was created by Jenn Hales (@jennhales on Instagram) and is entitled, āRiver on the Hill.ā The artist has said that the muralās inspiration was the natural beauty and stormwater retention gardens of Hill Street Park.

While unfortunately due to COVID, not much is open at this small park - the community center and the playgrounds are closed - but the fish mural alone is worth a trip. Peter enjoyed running along it, pointing out each of the fish. Lilypad hopping was attempted, but not quite managed. We also enjoyed the colorful flowers that are planted in the parking lot and all the pollinators among them.

This is definitely not a place you want to go thinking it will be an all-morning adventure. We were only there for about 30 minutes. However, this would be a great place to bring a lunch, sit at the pavilion, and admire the fish mural.
