Even though we would probably need more fingers and toes than our family has combined to count the amount of times we’ve been to the Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve in Cary, due to COVID, renovations, and the limited hours, we’ve never actually been in the indoor nature center at this park. Until this week!
As just mentioned above, this small indoor area at the park has limited hours - only Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm - but if you can manage to make it out during this time, we highly recommend it! The area has interactive exhibits, taxidermy animals, and plenty of beautiful photos and information about the park. We met up with some friends for a general play date at the park, and were pleasantly surprised to find the area open. Our littles loved it.
The entrance is located in the only building at the park, right next to the bathrooms.
And if you’ve never been to Hemlock Bluffs before, put it on your list! The park has a nature play area, garden, and very well-shaded trails. We’re fans of the Swift Creek Loop Trail, which takes you down a number of steps to a small loop with boardwalks. The trails aren’t really stroller friendly, but the area around the nature center is.
As we head into fall, make sure to visit this park because the changing colors here are a sight to see. 🍁🍂
