Who’s ready to run through these giant water misters at one of Cary’s newest parks this summer? 🙋♀️🙋♂️🙋 Can, I put two hands up for this one? 😂
Yes, if you can believe it, Town of Cary is opening ANOTHER park, and this one is brand new. Neighborhood Park on Carpenter Fire Station Road offers a playground with shade covering, public workout equipment, a dog park, paved walkways, and lighted baseball fields and basketball and futsal courts.
Google Maps is still having trouble with this new location. If you look on Google, 7028 Carpenter Fire Station Road is the listed address for the park. But if you actually type that specific address in into Google Maps, it shows as being across the road. A follower told me that a sign at the park says 7199 Carpenter Fire Station Road is the address, but if you type that in, it also doesn’t go to the park. 🥴 Best practice at this point: type in “Carpenter Fire Station Neighborhood Park” and that will get you where you need to go, regardless of what the actual address is. 😂
A few logistics:
• Large parking areas.
• All-gender restrooms right at the playground and baseball fields.
• The playground has the soft, squishy ground and an accessible slide. Multiple seating options also available.
• The public workout equipment is labeled as not for young children, so please respect this.
A separate note about getting into the park: when you pass the park on the road, the first entrance that looks like the obvious one since you see the fields and the playground, is probably not the one you should go in if you need to make a left to get into the park. At this entrance, there is a large concrete slab, the kind that makes it so you can only turn right to exit the park and then also only turn into the entrance from the right. (The first time we went to this park, I did turn left into this entrance because I didn’t know anything about the park and didn’t really know better. I realized later where I should have gone instead.) There is no sign up yet, but I imagine there will be in time. If you are going west on Carpenter Fire Station Road, the entrance you want to go in is the NEXT left turn, Highcroft Drive. It looks like you are turning into a neighborhood, but you will go down this road and then make a left into the park when the road dead ends. (I know this sounds complicated reading it - I made some videos and will share on Stories so you can see more clearly what I’m talking about - but I did want to include it because I think it is important.)
