We started our account almost 4 years ago, but we really picked up the pace once COVID hit because what else was there to do with your kids except go outdoors?
If you, like us, really got into parks during COVID, you may not know that there are quite a few parks in the Triangle that have amazing INDOOR areas, too. These incredible and mostly untouched indoor resources are reopening now that COVID protocols have been lifted and, let me tell you, they are true hidden gems.
We recently checked out the Blue Jay Center at Blue Jay Point County Park, and were blown away. The center is to the left by a garden area right when you enter the park. It has quite a few interactive and informative exhibits that were so well done. The @wakegovparks employee we met while there was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering us stickers and introducing us to their resident pet turtle.
Blue Jay Point has great, free outdoor amenities like trails, access to Falls Lake, a garden, a brand new playground, a natural play area, and frequently hosts a StoryWalk. The Blue Jay Center now adds a great indoor respite for these upcoming hot summer days, and we can’t be more thrilled.
Have you been to the Blue Jay Center at Blue Jay Point County Park? Let us know in the comments!
